ELT courses in the heart of England

Testimonials - what our students think

Everso English provides private tuition for full- immersion students. The classes take place within the host families’ home on a daily basis. We offer three standard courses, which are then tailored to suit the needs of the individual student. In addition to any course, students can boost their learning by also booking a place on one of our English Literary Experiences.

General English

This course is aimed at adults and young adults looking to improve their spoken and written general use of English. Whatever your current level, through a structured scheme of work, we will help you use English both accurately and confidently.  The course covers general, everyday English, but can include any specific requirements you have. With Everso English we ensure that your scheme of work is interesting, lively and motivating and as such combines traditional methods of language teaching with more recent communicative styles. Key features of the General English course will include:

  • Grammar
  • Vocabulary work
  • Pronunciation work
  • Written skills and practice
  • Spoken work and practice

Students receive a course book, as well as a file, a vocabulary notebook and other resources. These can be used as reference materials once the course of study has been completed.

Business English

English is the language of media and business with more than 80% of international companies using it for communication. As such, we understand the need for students of this course to improve their spoken and written English abilities, to meet the demands of modern business. Students are also able to improve their understanding and conversational ability in the following business topics:

  • Marketing
  • Production
  • Finance
  • Customer Service
  • Business communication

With Everso English, students on the business English course can study the vocabulary most directly linked to their area of work, to improve their use of English for specific contexts.  Tutors will also work with students on developing specific communication skills for business, and are able to select from the following areas:

  • Meetings
  • Negotiations
  • Presentations
  • Telephoning
  • E-commerce

Students who opt for a business English course will also cover areas of General English and are able to ask the tutor to focus on any preferred topics.
If desired, Everso English students, who are staying for a minimum of two weeks, can be found work experience placements with local companies, to further practice their communication skills in an immersive business environment. This may be in a general business environment or, with sufficient notice given, may be arranged in companies linked to their area of work.

Students receive a business English course book, as well as a course book for general English if required; as well as a file, vocabulary notebook and copy of the Longman Business English Dictionary, which can be used for study once the course has been completed.

IELTS Revision Course

IELTS stands for the International English Language Testing System and tests international students on the four key language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. With Everso English, students can work through an intense revision course for the IELTS, using sample tests and practice papers. Students on longer stays, can opt to take the test at our nearest test centre in Southampton.

Students receive a volume of the official IELTS practice materials, as well as sample tests and practice papers. The fee for the test is not included in the course.
Please use our contact form to enquire into prices for the courses.  For any of the courses, students can book into the intensive package (15 hours per week) or the super intensive (25 hours per week)
